Nicole Tierno is in her third year as Sunday School Coordinator at Centenary United Methodist Church, and has been a member of the faculty for five years. Nicole and husband Dan are parents of Devin (10) and Liliana (7), and have been active members of the Centenary community since relocating to Metuchen in 2014. Nicole and Dan have also been mainstays of CUMC’s highly successful Vacation Bible School program. She directed the VBS effort in 2020 with the well-received “Virtual Bible Social.”
Nicole traces her love for teaching in Sunday School to her youth, when she served as an assistant to her mother, who was also a Sunday School teacher. “Working with kids is so motivating – their joy is just so contagious,” she said.
Nicole has worked in the family counseling arena, having earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from C.W. Post (now LIU Post) and her master’s in psychology from New York University. She has specialized in domestic and child abuse, and maternal mental health.
